Paranoia — Terms of Use

The Short Version
Paranoia publishes our editorial opinion of how companies and apps handle your data, built from public sources with a receipt behind every claim. It is not legal advice, not a regulatory finding, and not a guarantee of any company’s actual practices. Use it to ask better questions, not as the last word.
What Paranoia Is
Every Paranoia Score, letter grade, and claim in this app is the publisher’s editorial opinion, derived from public sources (privacy policies, terms-of-service audits, independent research, self-run technical scans) and applied consistently through our published methodology. A score reflects what a company’s own disclosures and public record say at the time it was reviewed. It can change as sources change, and it is never a substitute for reading a company’s actual privacy policy before you decide to use its product.
No Warranties
Paranoia is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We work to keep every claim sourced and current, but we do not guarantee that the app is accurate, complete, or uninterrupted, and we are not liable for decisions made based on its content. If you find an error, tell us. See Corrections below.
Your Data
Paranoia does not require an account. Any information you enter (name, username, city, notification preferences) is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party. Uninstalling the app deletes it. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Paranoia Plus (Auto-Renewable Subscription)
Paranoia Plus is an optional auto-renewable subscription. The full catalog of company and app dossiers, every claim’s source link, ownership chains and subsidiaries, browse, search, and the city map are free without it and always will be.
What Plus unlocks today:
- Paranoia Scores — every company’s 0-100 score and letter grade, plus your personal exposure score across the companies you save. A score is still our editorial opinion; unlocking Plus changes what you can see, not what the score is.
- Personalized rankings — the HIGHEST RATED and BEST FOR YOU lists on the Discover screen, ordered by the privacy lens you set on this device.
- Recommended alternatives on every company page.
- Watchlist alerts — on-device local notifications when a saved company’s score changes or new receipts land. These alerts are generated on your device; your watchlist itself is never transmitted to us or to any third party.
Plus is a 1-year subscription billed at $47.00 USD, or the local-currency equivalent shown on the purchase screen at the time you buy. The paywall itself always reads the live localized price from the App Store, and if the two ever disagree, the price shown to you at purchase governs.
New subscribers get the first 3 days free. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the paid year begins automatically and your Apple ID is charged.
Plus renews automatically for another year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.
Cancellation is managed entirely by Apple — go to Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions, or apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Paranoia cannot cancel or refund a subscription on your behalf; refunds are Apple’s to issue.
If you reinstall the app or switch devices, tap RESTORE on the Profile screen using the same Apple ID that bought the subscription to restore it.
Corrections
- Found a stale claim, a broken source link, or a factual error? Email partnerships@diegofill.com and we will review it.
- Corrections are handled editorially, not automatically. A submission does not guarantee a score changes, but every correction is read.
Apple’s Standard EULA
Where required by the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA) also applies to your use of this app, in addition to the terms above.
Changes
We may update these terms as the app evolves. The version and date at the bottom of this page always reflect the copy currently in effect.
